Sex Through Text

Grinds My Gears
Have you ever been really into someone who is extremely bad at communicating or just so busy that you have to rely solely on text messaging to carry any kind of relationship with that person? I cannot stand dating someone who I have to constantly text message since she doesn't like talking on the phone, or is too busy to talk on the phone or see me or has any of the other endless reasons for resorting to texting. I think text messaging is a great invention and I use it quite frequently, however; I do not like to rely on it as my only gateway into the world of the girl I'm seeing. For example, I text her with "hey, What's up?' and then an hour later I get a reply with something a long the lines of "not much, you?" Not much? Obviously something more than not much is going on since it took her an hour to reply. Or say we are texting back and forth for a bit, I say something funny and then much later on in the day receive a text from her saying "haha" or "lol". Now since it has been some time since the humorous text was sent I am left to think she is crazy until I remember that earlier in the day I sent her something funny.
Another thing I hate about these text message relationships is when she actually has time to go out on a date but relies on texts for her and I to plan it all out. I am then stuck texting her an absurd amount of times asking her "if not that movie, then which one?' or " IDK where that place is, can you give me directions?', not only do I have wait for all of the replies from the one who takes forever and a day to reply, I then have to either decode what she wants to do or try and figure out where a certain place is because her rushed text message directions didn't make any sense. Then there are also the text messages that I find extremely difficult to respond to. How do I respond to a simple "lol" or a "haha" or any of the other one worded text messages people use to carry on a conversation that is pretty much finished? I don't even want to waste my time on a person who has only got time for texting because anyone can simply send a "lol" or "kisses". I'd much rather say something funny and hear her laughing out loud or be with her and feel the kisses she's giving me.

While I agree with the issue, I feel the need to point out that it takes two to text. You're answering her texts with a text - next time, just dial the phone and talk. (Continued…)

If you two are really into each other, perhaps you may want to discuss conscientiously dumping the texting altogether. Make a commitment to not text each other at all, and to use the phone to set up dates. (Continued…)

Maybe there's a good reason that she is only texting you. CALL HER. Talk to her about how you feel about it. I don't get why it's so hard for guys to just talk to there girlfriend about something they don't like. (Continued…)
