Club week ends

Clubs campus-wide put down their booths in conclusion of join-a-club week.
In an event that ended Friday and began Monday, students had the oppurtunity to explore the various clubs on campus through booths set up in front of the student life center.
Mariel Munoz, 21, the ICC representative for MEChA said the turnout was really well.
"They have been asking us a lot of questions like what our club stands for, and they like a lot of the values of our club," Munoz said.
Different tactics were utilized to grab the attention of passerbys interested in joining. Alpha Gamma Sigma had guests throw a large die for a chance to win a free membership or a free club t-shirt.
The fire tech club provided demonstrations on some of their activities, like saving a civilian through oncoming obstacles.
President of the fire tech club Carlos Montano, 22, also had great responses from interested students.
"We have had a lot of new faces, new people," Montano said. "We have a lot of people that want to come out and participate with us now. We're doing a lot of new things."
Student response was generally positive.
Peter Jo, 19, a business major won a free membership to Alpha Gamma Sigma.
"I thought it was fun." Jo said, "I like free stuff."
Chemical engineering major, Maria Cruz, 18, said that the event was well done.
"I think [the clubs] are doing a great job trying to get people in," Cruz said. "It's really fun. You get to meet a lot of new people. You get to talk to a lot of them and they're really helpful and they inform you a lot."
