Ritchie has been the director of TFP student action for five years and said they go everywhere. He added that TFP prefers places with a higher concentration of people, like downtown areas.
"We were in downtown Los Angeles doing the business districts there, and college campuses, wherever we can reach a lot of people," he said. "It really doesn't matter, we like to go to college campuses, because there seems to be a lot more confusion in a campus setting than there is in the general public."
Ritchie added, "Why that is, I'm not exactly sure, maybe because professors areā¦liberal professors are more inclined to support same-sex marriage. I would say that college campuses are the place where this information is needed most."
Jeff Parker, director of public safety at Mt. SAC, was present during the non-violent protest. Parker said that the protest was peaceful and that both sides were respectful of each other.
"Our job as public safety officers is to ensure that the educational process runs smoothly, in this case, we have two sides utilizing their freedom of speech rights," Parker said.
The only drawback, Parker said, was the fact that because his public safety officers were mediating the protest, there was not as many to monitor other parts of the campus.
Associated Students President Brandie White said that the group had a right to be on campus.
"I'm glad to see both sides, this is a college campus and this is free speech," she said.
White also said that personally she supports non-traditional marriage.
"Marriage is a right, not a privilege," White said.

Kristen, if "marriage is a right ordained by God," even more reason for you to vote NO on Prop 8 because the Bill of Rights, Amendment 1, prohibits the United States Congress from making laws "respecting an establishment of religion. (Continued…)

This country was founded on Christian Beliefs and we should not let a few homosexuals change the basic foundation of this country.

Marriage is a joining of two souls in the eyes of God, not by society. Marriage is a sacred bond between a MAN AND A WOMAN ONLY in the eyes of God because marriage is a bonding privilege not a RIGHT given by God. (Continued…)
