If you are a long time reader you may recall a column I wrote for the print edition last Spring saying goodbye to the newspaper. Why have I decided to return?
I have to give credit to the Mountaineer's new journalism adviser Toni Albertson whose dedication to the program last semester convinced me to take on the privilege of updating our online edition on a regular basis.
It wasn't until she took over and until the paper fell under the aegis of the English Department and Chairperson Gary Enke that I really felt as though the college's administration would support the newspaper and by extension, its online edition.
Even though I already have an A.A. degree in Language Arts from Mt. SAC and an A.A. in Behavioral Science, while I complete my transfer requirements I will also contribute to the paper in my final semester.
We have a lot planned for this semester including adding podcasting to our site and blogs, the first of which you are reading now. Watch this space for more on the new features on the online edition and other campus related information.
